Gordon Berger è considerato tra i pionieri del movimento Digital Art. Con oltre un decennio di esperienza, esplora il ruolo della tecnologia come mezzo artistico e il suo impatto in un mondo contemporaneo in continua evoluzione. All'inizio del 2018 è stato il primo relatore TEDx a tenere un discorso su Digital Art e NFT presso il Museum of London. L'anno successivo, ha tenuto la sua prima mostra personale NFT a New York e da allora espone internazionalmente la sua arte. Gordon è stato tra i primi artisti al mondo a tokenizzare su SuperRare nel 2018, coniando 3 dei 100 originari token, contribuendo quindi alla nascita del primo marketplace di arte generativa su blockchain.​ Gordon ha anche creato i primi NFT mai materializzati dal digitale alla realtà fisica: le serie Solidity e Materiality . Con una formazione classica presso la Central Saint Martins University of Arts di Londra e la Belgrade School of Design, Berger ha dedicato la sua carriera a creare arte combinando algoritmi digitali con tecniche di pittura tradizionali.

Gordon Berger is considered among the pioneers of the Digital Art movement. With over a decade of experience, he explores the role of technology as an artistic medium and its impact in an ever-changing contemporary world. In early 2018, he was the first TEDx speaker to give a talk on Digital Art and NFT at the Museum of London. The following year, he held his first solo NFT exhibition in New York and has been exhibiting his art internationally ever since. Gordon was among the first artists in the world to tokenize on SuperRare in 2018, minting 3 of the original 100 tokens, thus contributing to the birth of the first generative art marketplace on blockchain. Gordon also created the first NFTs ever materialised from digital to physical reality: the 'Solidity' and 'Materiality' series. Classically trained at Central Saint Martins University of Arts in London and the Belgrade School of Design, Berger has dedicated his career to creating art by combining digital algorithms with traditional painting techniques.

“Alea Iacta Est” fa parte della serie “INFINITY”. L’artista con le sue raccolte artistiche (Solidity, Materiality, Infinity) si concentra sulla documentazione dell'evoluzione del movimento della Digital Art e sulla fusione della realtà fisica e digitale. Attraverso una propria interpretazione astratta, egli vuole rappresentare il significato del “essere umano” in un momento di trasformazione culturale e tecnologica così significativa. La serie 'INFINITY' esplora come la tecnologia stia ridefinendo il ruolo della creatività umana, dello stile e dell'esperienza in un nuovo mondo guidato dall’ intelligenza artificiale. Ogni faccia del cubo è generata da modelli personalizzati di intelligenza artificiale testo-immagine, addestrati esclusivamente su opere precedenti dell'artista. L'immagine generata è poi utilizzata come base per la pittura fisica su tela, chiudendo così il cerchio del processo creativo. Documentando l'evoluzione dell'arte con gli algoritmi, Berger pone domande importanti del nostro tempo e ne interpreta le risposte attraverso le sue opere.

The work:

Alea Iacta Est' is part of the 'INFINITY' series. With his art collections (Solidity, Materiality, Infinity), the artist focuses on documenting the evolution of the digital art movement and the fusion of physical and digital reality. Through his own abstract interpretation, he seeks to represent the meaning of 'being human' at a time of such significant cultural and technological change. The 'INFINITY' series explores how technology is redefining the role of human creativity, style and experience in a new world driven by artificial intelligence. Each face of the cube is generated from bespoke Artificial Intelligence text-image models trained exclusively on the artist's previous work. The generated image is then used as the basis for physical painting on canvas, closing the circle of the creative process. By documenting the evolution of art with algorithms, Berger asks important questions of our time and interprets the answers through his work.
