Scura fusione a base di ferro ritraente il Buddha trascendente Amitayus (Tshe-dpag-med lha-dgu) con le mani in grembo in posizione dhyanamudra accoglie il sacro contenitore. La figura inoltre poggia su un alto piedistallo decorato con leone delle nevi ed ha retrostantemente una torana traforata con all'apice la bestia benefica Cheppu.

Fusione in bronzo dorato ritraente in posizione stante il bodhisattva trascendente Ksitigarbha vestito con i paramenti tipici della sua classe e mostra delle piccole turchesi incastonate nei gioielli. La sua mano sinistra è nel gesto dell'asceta (sramanamudra) mentre la destra, con la quale regge anche un tralcio di loto, è nel gesto di esposizione della dottrina vitarkamudra.

Arte Himalayana Statua in bronzo a patina scura raffigurante il bodhisattva Manjusri Nepal, XIV - XV secolo . -. Cm 6,90 x 12,00. Piccola e raffinata fusione in bronzo raffigurante il bodhisattva trascendente Manjusri nella sua forma di Manjughosa. In questa particolare manifestazione siede in posizione padmasana ed ha i suoi attributi di riconoscimento (la spada ed il libro) poggiati su due fiori di loto che risalgono sulle sue spalle; le mani che stringono gli steli degli stessi sono nel gesto di avviamento della ruota della dottrina (dharmacakrapravartanamudra). L'oggetto presenta una rottura alla base.

A little and refined bronze fusion statue depicting the transcendent bodhisattva Manjushri in his Manjughosa version. In this particular manifestation he sits in padmasana position and his typical objects (the sword and the book) rest on two lotus next to his shoulders. With his hands he holds the lotus' stems, in the gesture of turning the wheel of the doctrine (dharmacakrapravartanamudra). There is a chip on the base of the statue.

Elegante fusione in metallo con una forte percentuale di ferro raffigurante Tara Verde (Sgrol-ljan in tibetano) ritratta nella sua postura classica con le gambe divaricate in posizione ardhaparyanka, la sua mano destra nel gesto di garanzia di esaudimento dei desideri (varadamudra) e la sinistra dovrebbe reggere un tralcio di loto, andato perso.

This elegant copper fusion statue depicts Green Tara (Sgrol-ljan in Tibetan) depicted in her classical pose: her legs spreaded in ardhaparyanka position, her right hand makes the gesture of varadamudra (granting of the wishes) and her left hand should have held a lotus, which is missing.

Raffinata fusione raffigurante il personaggio in postura stante, dotato di quattro braccia di cui due portatrici di attributi (libro e mala), le due frontali invece sono in dharmacakrapravartanamudra. Di incerta identificazione a causa dell'inusuale combinazione di attributi e postura.

Arte Himalayana Scultura in ottone raffigurante Mahakala (?) Nepal, XVII - XVIII secolo. -. Cm 27,00 x 34,00. Imponente e raffinata fusione raffigurante probabilmente il dharmapala Mahakala in una sua variante Chaturbhuja (quattro braccia). Il personaggio tiene nelle sue mani una spada, uno scudo, una testa umana ed una kartika (coltello rituale per lo scuoiamento). Tutta la figura è supportata da un'aureola sbalzata che lascia presumere l'inserimento dell'opera all'interno di una piccola edicola templare. Le differenze iconografiche di attributi alla forma canonica di Mahakala non permettono di identificare con certezza l'identità di questa figura.

Big and refined brass fusion statue which probably depicts the dharmapala Mahakala in one of his Chaturbhuja versions (with four arms). He holds a sword, a shield, a human head and a kartika (ritual knife). He is propped up by an embossed halo, therefore maybe the statue was originally inserted in a little templar niche. This statue shows many iconographic differences compared with the traditional forms of Mahakala, therefore is very difficult to safely identify this character.

Pregiata statua in lega a base di rame con ricca doratura nel tipico stile nepalese di epoca Malla raffigurante l'Adibuddha Vajrasattva (Rdo-rje-sems-pa in tibetano) seduto in posizione padmasana su base a doppio loto; stringe nelle mani i due attributi che lo contraddistinguono: nella destra un vajra e nella sinistra la campana ghanta. La figura inoltre mostra piccoli alloggiamenti per pietre preziose, talune ancora in loco.
Arte Himalayana A statue depicting Vajrasattva. Nepal, Malla dynasty, 16th century. . Cm 11,00. This exquisite copper statue shows a lavish gilt in the typical Nepalese Malla style. It portrays the Adibuddha Vajrasattva (Rdo-rje-sems-pa in Tibetan) seated in padmasana position on a double lotus base. He holds his typical objects: a vajra in his right hand and the ghanta bell in his left hand. The statue shows little niches to hold jewels, some of which are still in place.

Importante fusione in bronzo raffigurante il bodhisattva della compassione Avalokitesvara nella sua forma a quattro braccia denominata Sadaksari-lokesvara seduto su una base a doppio loto in posizione padmasana è adornato di gioielli, orecchini e corona caratteristici della sua classe. La figura porta nella mano destra un rosario (mala), nella sinistra un fiore di loto mentre le due mani giunte davanti al petto nascondono il gioiello (cintamani). Per caratteristiche stilistiche è possibile ricondurre l'opera alla zona Ovest del Tibet con una leggera influenza della bronzistica Kashmira del XI - XII secolo.
Arte Himalayana A bronze sculpture portraying Avalokistesvara Tibet, 17th century. . Cm 10,00 x 20,00. Important bronze fusion statue portraying compassion bodhisattva Avalokitesvara in her four arms version (called Sadaksari-lokesvara). She is seated on a double lotus base in padmasana position and wears jewels, earrings and crown, typical symbols of her status. The bodhisattva holds a mala (rosary) in her right hand, a lotus in her left hand and a cintamani jewel on her chest. Because of its style, this statue can be ascribed to West Tibetan school, and a slight influence by Kashmirian bronze school of 11th and 12th centuries can be noticed.

Arte Himalayana Importante statua in bronzo dorato raffigurante Tara Bianca Nepal, XV secolo o posteriore. . Cm 21,50. Importante fusione in lega a base di rame con rimanenti cospicui residui di doratura al mercurio raffigurante, con ogni probabilità, Tara Bianca, Sita Tara, (Sgrol- Dkar) nello stile tipico del periodo Malla. L'imponente figura presenta bracciali, collane e corone finemente lavorati, siede in posizione paryanka, mostra un terzo occhio e quattro fiori di loto in corrispondenza delle palme di mani e piedi. Sul retro del braccio sinistro è presente un alloggiamento che avrebbe dovuto ospitare un fiore di loto con il suo tralcio, ormai perso. In virtù di questo dettaglio si ipotizza l'identificazione con Tara Bianca. Altre figure analoghe prive di tale aggancio retrostante sono state invece identificate con il Buddha trascendente Amoghasiddhi (Don-yod-grub-pa). A questo proposito, per un esemplare comparativo si veda quello venduto da Christie's nel 2013 (Sale 2687, lot 404).
Arte Himalayana An important gilt bronze statue depicting White Tara Nepal, 15th century or later . . Cm 21,50. This important bronze fusion statue shows many gilt remains. It probably depicts White Tara, Sita Tara (Sgrol-Dkar) in the typical style of Malla period. The imposing figure wears exquisitely decorated bracelets, necklaces and crowns. She sits in paryanka position, she has the third eye and she also has four lotus on the palm of her hands and feet. Behind her left arm there is a niche that probably should have held a lotus with its steam, which unfortunately was lost. And that's precisely for this detail that this statue almost certainly portrays White Tara, because many other similar figures, but without the rear niche, have been identified as the transcendent Buddha Amoghasiddhi (Don-yod.grub-pa). For a similar object, check out the one sold by Christie's in 2013 (Sale 2687, lot 404).

Thangka raffigurante uno schema astrologico con i segni dello zodiaco cinese al centro della composizione, circondati da una fiammeggiante tartaruga stilizzata. Tra le figure dell'ordine superiore è possibile distinguere il bodhisattva della compassione Avalokitesvara nella sua variante a quattro braccia. Nella zona inferiore è presente un cartiglio vuoto. Misure irregolari L'oggetto è inserito in una cornice con doppio vetro.

This Thangka portrays an astrological scheme, where Chinese zodiac signs are depicted at the center of the composition, surrounded by a flaming tortoise. Among the figures in the upper part of the painting there are the bodhisattva of compassion Avalokitesvara (in his four-armed version). In the lower part there is a blank roll. Irregular measures. The Thangka is protected by a double-glass frame.

Grande thangka raffigurante uno dei sette Buddha antecedenti al Buddha storico, Krakucchanda (Sans-rgyas Hkhor-ba-hjig in tibetano). La figura centrale siede in posizione padmasana e tiene la mano destra nel gesto di garanzia di esaudimento dei desideri varadamudra e la sinistra nel gesto di incoraggiamento abhayamudra. Il personaggio è circondato da una doppia aureola e da una coppia di peonie. La composizione è arricchita da 103 piccole raffigurazioni di altri Buddha e, nel registro inferiore spiccano un arhat e la dharmapala Palden-lhmo. Consunzioni.

Thangka di fattura popolare, seppur fortemente espressiva, raffigurante centralmente il bodhisattva della compassione Avalokitesvara (Spyan-ras-gzigs phyag-bzhi-pa in tibetano) nella sua variante a quattro braccia. La figura è seduta in posizione padmasana, stringe nelle due mani esterne un rosario (mala) ed un fiore di loto, mentre con le rimanenti due mani avvicina al petto l'invisibile gioiello dell'intelletto Cintamani . Intorno alla figura principale è dipinto un foto numero di personaggi in sequenza narrativa.

Around him the Thangka depict a great number of characters in narrative sequence.

Il testo può essere presumibilmente datato tra il XVIII - XIX secolo, mentre la copertina, di pregiata fattura e decorata con draghi, è ascrivibile al XX secolo.
Arte Himalayana A Sutra book Tibet, 19th century. . Cm 51,00 x 20,00 x 20,00. This big book with double cover is about the Sutra of bodhisattva Manjushri's names. The text could be dated back between 18th and 19th centuries AD, while the cover, embellished with dragons, was made in 20th century.

Thangka raffigurante Vajriputra, uno dei 18 arhat (colui che ha raggiunto l'illuminazione tramite gli insegnamenti del maestro), realizzata con colori tenui mostra il personaggio principale con lo scacciamosche, attributo che lo contraddistingue. Intorno alla figura si sviluppa un paesaggio agreste con cicogne e nuvole spumose stilizzate. Da notare, oltre alla presenza dell'attivazione sul retro (Om Ah Hum), la cornice originale in broccato di seta. Misure con la cornice: 125 X 67 cm

A Thangka portraying Vajriputra, one of the eighteen arhat (people who reached the illumination thanks to the master's teachings). The painting has tenuous colors and portrays the central character holding a fly swatter – a typical Vajriputra object. Around him there is a country landscape with storks and puffy clouds. Noteworthy are the Buddhist mantra "Om ah hum" on the backside, as much as the original silk brocade frame.

Thangka raffigurante una delle otto manifestazioni di Padmasambhava (Guru Rimpoke in tibetano) nella sua forma semi-irata per contrastare gli spiriti maligni. Il personaggio poggia su una tigre, che usa come cavalcatura, e tiene in mano un phurba ed un vajra. Intorno alla figura principale sono ritratti 100 personaggi religiosi appartenenti alla scuola Kagyu-pa.
Arte Himalayana A Thangka depicting Dorje Drolo. Tibet, later 18th century. . Cm 44,50 x 43,50. This Thangka portrays one of the eight manifestation of Padmasambhava (Guru Rimpoke in Tibetan). This manifestation is the semi-irate one. The Padmasambhava rides a tiger and holds a phurba and a vajra in his hands. Around the central figure there are 100 famous religious characters of the Kagyu-pa school.

Thangka in stile Karmagadri tipico del Tibet Orientale raffigurante la rossa Yogini Vajravarahi (Rdo-rje-phang-mo in tibetano). Circondata da un'aureola fiammeggiante è nella posizione ad arco capasthana e porta come attributi una kapala, una kartika ed una bacchetta magica khatvanga. Inserita in un ambiente spoglio tipico di questo stile pittorico, sono presenti 14 personaggi secondari tra i quali è possibile distinguere nell'ordine superiore l'Adibuddha Vajradhara, il maestro Milarepa e probabilmente il tredicesimo Karmapa Dudul Dorje (1733 - 1798). Nell'ordine inferiore si possono notare Svayambhu-rajni, Ajita Mahakala e Vajrasadhu. Entro cornice a doppio vetro.

This Thangka (Karmagadri style, typical of Eastern Tibet) portrays the red Yogini Vajravarahi (Rdo-rje-phang-mo in Tibetan). She is surrounded by a flaming halo and she stands in the arrow position capasthana, holding a kapala, a kartika and a khatvanga magic wand. The landscape is poor, as is typical of this pictorial style, but still there are 14 characters in the Thangka: the Adibuddha Vajradhara, the master Milarepa and probably the 13th Karmapa Dudul Dorje (1733-1798, all three in the upper part of the painting). In the lower part there are Avayambhu-rajni, Ajita Mahakala and Vajrasadhu. The Thangka is inside a double-glass frame.
