A clip-on table lamp

Stilnovo, 'Periscopio' model designed by Danilo and Corrado Aroldi, Italy 1967

A famous gooseneck lamp by Stilnovo, with its bendable rubber-covered joint, so that it can be bent, turned and regulated in different positions.

A model designed, as were many lamps of the period with the particular light bulb fitting the B22 bayonet mount, the Cornalux manufactured by Philips. One side of the bulb is chrome finished and reflects light downward and therefore is glare-free, avoiding the need for a shade. This lamp is in the MOMA collection in New York, number  451.1970.1-3  and was included in the 1972 exhibition "Italy: the new domestic landscape".
