Esemplare in barbe della terza edizione che segue la prima del 1590 e la seconda del 1598 (si veda lotto precedente). Un'opera iconica e celebrata per l'interesse grafico, artistico e storico e una fondamentale testimonianza delle conoscenze sul costume dell'epoca rinascimentale.
8vo (195 x 128mm). Marche tipografiche al frontespizio, in fine e ripetute anche nel testo, numerosissime xilografie che illustrano gli abiti dell'epoca, alcune entro cornice, iniziali e fregi xilografici (terza carta rinforzata al margine esterno, qualche sporadica lieve macchia). Cartonato coevo, in barbe (dorso posteriore), titolo manoscritto su etichetta antica, portfolio moderno in pelle e custodia moderna.

An uncut copy of the third edition that follows the first of 1590 and the second of 1598 (see previous lot). An iconic and celebrated work for its graphic, artistic and historical interest and a fundamental testimony of knowledge on the costume of the Renaissance era.
8vo (195 x 128mm). Printer's device on title, at end and repeated in the text, numerous woodcut illustrations of the styles of the time, some within a frame, initials and woodcut headpieces (third leaf reinforced at the outer margin, some occasional slight staining). Contemporary boards, uncut (later spine), manuscript title on earlier label, modern leather portfolio and case.
