Prima edizione di questa versione di molto accresciuta che include le informazioni dei due supplementi e le informazioni aggiuntive scoperte dopo la prima pubblicazione. Latham descrive svariate centinaia di specie di uccelli per la prima volta. La maggior parte provengono dall'Australia da dove molti animali furono portati in Inghilterra dopo la colonizzazione nel 1788 (Anker).
11 volumi (incluso l'indice), 4to (269 x 212mm). 193 tavole incise e colorate a mano all'epoca numerate 1-184, che includono le tavole 67 bis, 85 bis, 87 bis, 98 bis, 104 bis, 104 bis*, 107 bis, 112 bis e 124 bis (alcuni strappi riparati fra cui quello alle istruzioni per rilegare le tavole del vol. V, il frontespizio del vol. IX e il margine della tavola 61, occasionali lievi bruniture, sporadiche fioriture al testo e pochi strappetti marginali). Legature uniformi moderne in pelle marrone con applicate etichette in tela al dorso (segni di colla al margine interno del primo frontespizio dovuti al discostamento del foglio di guardia). Alcune copie contengono una nota dell'autore ai sottoscrittori inserita in alcuni volumi e non presente qui. First edition of this considerably expanded version of Latham's General Synopsis of Birds, including the information from the two supplements, and the information discovered since the original publication. Latham "described several hundred birds for the first time and named nearly two hundred new forms. Most of these came from Australia from where many animals were brought to England after the country had been settled in 1788" (Anker).
11 volumes (including index), 4to (269 x 212mm). 193 hand-coloured etched plates, by and after Latham, numbered 1-184, including 67 bis, 85 bis, 87 bis, 98 bis, 104 bis, 104 bis*, 107 bis, 112 bis and 124 bis (directions for plates in vol.V, title in vol.IX and margin of plate 61 with repaired tear, offsetting from and onto some plates, some leaves and plates spotted, occasional very light waterstaining, lightly browned).
