Edizione successiva in bella legatura moderna di questo classico della storia dell'ingegneria considerato il primo vero "teatro di macchine" moderno. Jacques Besson, che venne nominato sul finire della sua vita "Maître des machines du roi" è conosciuto, oltre per avere ideato meccanismi tanto mirabili quanto irrealizzabili, per aver dato un forte contributo al miglioramento del tornio e del mulino ad acqua. Folio (450 x 270mm). Frontespizio entro cornice allegorica, 60 illustrazioni nel testo (esemplare lavato, carta a3 ripetuta, piccolo restauro al margine superiore esterno della carta b2, carta k1 con errore di stampa). Legatura firmata da Lobstein-Laurenchet in pieno marocchino scuro con titolo in oro al dorso, tagli dorati, sguardie in carta marmorizzata (piccolo al dorso segno in presenza del titolo).

A later edition in a fine modern binding of this classic work on engineering considered to be the first modern "teatro di macchine". Jacques Besson was nominated "Maitre des machines du roi" and is remembered for his impossible mechanisms and for having strongly improved the system of the water mill.
Folio (450 x 270mm). Title within allegorical border, 60 illustrations (washed, a3 repeated, small restoration to top margin of b2, k1 with printing error). Dark morocco signed by Lobstein-Laurenchet with gilt title on spine, gilt edges, marbled endpapers (small defect to spine near title).
