Zao Wou-Ki (1921-2013) was a Chinese painter who lived in France. He studied at the School of Fine Arts of Hangzhou, where he taught until 1947. He moved to Paris in 1948. His artistic practice, influenced by Klee’s style, involves a precious and refined abstraction, reminiscent of his original culture.
