Arte Himalayana Volto in argilla di Begtse Chen in argilla Tibet, XVIII-XIX secolo . -. Cm 31,00 x 30,00. Grande frammento di statua in argilla secca e con cospicue tracce di colore, raffigurante probabilmente il volto del protettore della dottrina buddhista Begtse Chen. Di carnagione rossa presenta un aspetto irato e tre occhi sgranati di cu uno sulla fronte, inoltre la bocca schiusa in atteggiamento feroce mostra zanne acuminate e lembi di fiamme ai lati. Considerando la dimensione del volto é possibile imaginare l’imponenza scultura originaria, che probabilmente faceva parte degli arredi statuari di un tempio buddhista.

Big fragment of an earthenware statue, presenting substantial traces of pigment, which presumably depicts the face of Begtse Chen, protector of the Buddhist doctrine. He displays a red complexion and an irate expression, with three wide-open eyes and pointed fangs protruding from the open mouth, as well as flames licking the sides of his mouth. The size of the fragment makes it possible to infer the huge dimensions of the original sculpture, which presumably was part of the statuary in a Buddhist temple.
