Arte Himalayana Grande scultura in rame dorato raffigurante Buddha Sakyamuni Nepal, XVIII secolo . -. Cm 45,00 x 74,00 x 30,00. Di dimensioni imponenti, realizzato con la tecnica a sbalzo repoussé, Buddha siede in posizione padmasana su una base a doppio fiore di loto, la mano sinistra adagiata in grembo nel gesto di rilassamento avakasamudra, la destra nel gesto di contatto con la terra, presa a testimone della veridicità delle sue parole, bhumisparsamudra. La veste monacale che lo copre è arricchita da fini ceselli fitomorfi ai bordi. Volto dall'espressione serena e ieratica con cospicui pigmenti policromi. Una delle mani della figura è modulare, realizzata in fusione ed estraibile.

Massive repoussé Buddha, sitting in the padmasana position on a double lotus flower base. The left hand rests in his lap in the avakasamudra gesture, while the right hand touches the ground performing the bhumisparsamudra. The monastic robe he wears is enriched by chiseled phytomorphic decors on the trim. On his face, displaying substantial traces of polychrome pigments, is a serene, hieratic look. One of the hands of the figure was cast: it is modular and can be removed from the sculpture.
