Arte Himalayana Grande scultura in rame dorato raffigurante Mahakala Bianco Nepal, XVIII secolo . -. Cm 30,00 x 63,00 x 45,00. Imponente scultura realizzata con la tecnica a sbalzo repoussè ritraente la figura irata Mahakala nella sua variante a sei braccia (Shadbhuja) bianca in postura stante samapafa poggiante su una base a fiore di loto singolo. La figura è coperta da un dothi ingioiellato ed ognuna delle sei mani in origine brandiva un attributo: nelle due principali una kapala ed un gioiello (mani), una kartica, uno stendardo dhvaja, un'ascia parasu ed una bacchetta in forma di tridente khatvanga nelle secondarie. Di quelli elencati solo il gioiello è ancora in sede. Su piedi, polsi ed orecchini sono presenti alcune pietre coeve tra cui smeraldi e rubini. Il volto, dall'espressione irata, è interamente dipinto con pigmenti originali, presenta accenni di barba, un grande terzo occhio, fiamme che fuoriescono dalla bocca ed una capigliatura fiammeggiante con al centro un diadema in radice di smeraldo. Su caviglie, polsi e gioielli è possibile notare vetri colorati e pietre preziose, tra cui: radici di rubino e coralli, probabilmente coevi. Mani e piedi della figura sono realizzati in fusione.
Arte Himalayana A massive gilt copper figure of White Mahakala Nepal, 18th century . . Cm 30,00 x 63,00 x 45,00. Big repoussé sculpture depicting an irate White Mahakala in the six armed manifestation (Shadbhuja), standing in the samapafa position on a single lotus flower base. The figure is covered by a jeweled dothi, and each of the six hands originally held an attribute: a kapala in the main two, and a jewel (mani), a kartica, a dhvaja banner, a parasu axe and a khatvanga club in the others. Only the jewel is still in position. Some coeval stones, among which emeralds and rubies, are present on the feet, the wrists and the earrings. The face, irate, is covered with original pigments and shows traces of a beard, a big third eye, flames coming out from the mouth and flaming hair with a central emerald root diadem. The ankles, wrists and the jewels present colored glass and precious stones, among which ruby root and corals, likely coeval. Hands and feet are cast.
