India, XII secolo. . Cm 4,00 x 10,50. Raffigurante Bahubali, il figlio del primo tirthankara e fondatore del giainismo, spesso ritratto con la vegetazione sulle gambe che la leggenda vuole sia cresciuta a seguito di un intero anno di meditazione in quella posa (Kayotsarga).

India, 12th century. . Cm 4,00 x 10,50. This sculpture portrays Bahubali, son of the first tirthankara and founder of Jainism. He is often depicted with plants and leaves on his legs: the legend states that such vegetation grew over his lap after Bahubali remained for an entire year in Kayotsarga position to meditate.
