Piccola testa in bronzo raffigurante Buddha caratterizzato da eleganti curve sinuose e forme cilindriche ed allo stesso tempo leggere tipiche della scultura in stile Sukhothai, il primo dei tre stili canonici per l'iconografia del Buddha sviluppatosi nell'odierna Thailandia all'inizio del XIV secolo con forti influenze dell'arte dello Sri Lanka. Altezza con supporto: h. 24 cm
Arte Sud-Est Asiatico A head of Buddha in Sukhotai style. Thailandia, 14th–15th century. Bronze fusion with gilt remains. . Cm 16,00. This little bronze head portrays Buddha with the elegant, curvy lines and the pleasant shapes typical of Sukhotai style sculpture. The Sukhotai is the first of three traditional styles used for the representation of Buddha and it developed in Thailandia at the beginning of 14th century, strongly influenced by Sri Lanka's art. Height with base: 24 cm.
