ΤΕΡΙΝΑΙΩΝ, head of nymph Terina r.; Rv. Nike seated l. on plinth, holding out r. hand upon which a small bird alights, l. hand resting on plinth. Regling, Terina 78; SNG Dewing 541; Holloway/Jenkins 84; HN Italy 2629; SNG ANS 852 (same obv. die); SNG Lloyd 761-2 (same obv. die); BMC 41 = GPCG p. 46, 25 (same obv. die); Basel 242; Gulbenkian 154 (same obv. die); Kraay-Hirmer pl. 97, 280. A very elegant portrait of exquisite style. Evidence of previous mechanical oxide removal. Fields gently smoothed. Probably slightly tooled around some figure details as a result of cleaning interventions, otherwise near extremely fine.
