CERVANTES, Miguel de. (1547-1616) - Les principales avantures de l'admirable don Quichotte. L'Aia: Pierre de Hondt, 1746.
Esemplare completo delle 31 tavole, il testo non è contenuto entro cornice xilografica come in alcune altre copie esaminate. Questa edizione francese fu data alle stampe allo stesso tempo di quella olandese a cura dello stesso editore e con le stesse illustrazioni. Esistono anche alcune copie in grande formato.
4to (268 x 215mm). Frontespizio in rosso e nero con vignetta incisa in rame, testatine e iniziali incise in rame e legno, 31 incisioni in primo stato senza numerazione di Coypel, Cochin, Boucher, le Bas e Tremolières da Picart, Van Schley e altri (alcune bruniture, manca l'ultima carta con l'avviso al legatore e il rimando "avis" è stato occultato). Pelle coeva, filetto in oro ai piatti e dorso in oro, tagli rossi (alcuni difetti e perdite). Provenienza: Conte di Perrone (1789-1849, exlibris; politico, patriota e militare).

A copy complete with the 31 engraved plates. The text is not contained within the woodcut border as in other copies. This French edition appeared in the same year as a Dutch edition from the same publisher, with the same illustrations. Large paper copies in folio also exist.

Title in red and black with engraved vignette, engraved and woodcut headpieces and initials, 31 engraved plates in first state without numbering by Coypel, Cochin, Boucher, le Bas and Tremolières after Picart, Van Schley and others (some browning, lacking the final instructions to the binder with canceled catchword). Contemporary calf, gilt fillet and spine, red edges (rubbing, scuffing and chipping). Provenance: Count of Perrone (1789-1849, exlibris; politician, patriot and military).
