Arte Himalayana Grande thangka raffigurante Campo del Rifugio Cina/Tibet, fine XVIII secolo . -. Cm 94,50 x 132,00. Thangka di notevoli dimensioni raffigurante il cosiddetto campo del rifugio nella composizione tipica della scuola Gelug-pa. Centralmente è ritratto il Buddha storico Sakyamuni, nella sua postura classica, circondato da un'aureola dorata e peonie. La figura è affiancata, alla sua destra, dal Buddha del futuro Maitreya, alla sua sinistra il bodhisattva Manjusri. La composizione è suddivisa in quattro aree popolate da 254 personaggi secondari e delimitate da nuvole e petali di loto. Nella porzione inferiore è possibile distinguere otto ordini nei quali si identificano, tra gli altri: Jambhala, Yama, Mahakala, Mahakala Bianco, Chakrasamvara, Vajrabhairava, Tara Verde e Amitabha. I tre gruppi rimanenti sono composti da personaggi religiosi storici di alto lignaggio. All'interno della porzione sovrastante il Buddha storico è ritratto il maestro Tsongkhapa e, nell'ultimo ordine, caratterizzato dalla carnagione blu, è presente Vajradhara legato alla sua consorte. Tutta la composizione è sostenuta, nella porzione inferiore, dai quattro Lokapala e dalla ruota del dharma. La thangka presenta il broccato originale e sul retro è scritta l'attivazione Om ah hum.

Huge thangka depicting the so called Refuge Field in the composition peculiar to the Gelug-pa school. The historical Buddha Sakyamuni is portrayed in the center, in his classic posture, surrounded by a golden halo and peonies. The character is flanked on the right by the future Buddha Maitreya and on the left by the bodhisattva Majusri. Surrounding the main characters are four groups of 254 secondary characters lined with clouds and lotus petals. In the lower part are eight orders in which are depicted, among the others: Jambhala, Yama, Mahakala, White Mahakala, Chakrasamvara, Vajrabhairava, Green Tara e Amitabha. The three remaining groups are made up of religious and historical figures. Within the section positioned above the historical Buddha is portrayed the master Tsongkhapa, while in the last order, characterized by his blue skin, is Vajradhara tied to his spouse. The whole composition is held aloft by the four Lokapala and the dharma wheel.
