Arte Himalayana Testa di Bhairava in terracotta
Nepal, XVII - XVIII secolo . -. Cm 26,50 x 37,00. Scultura ritraente il dharmapala dall'aspetto irato Bhairava qui ritratto con enormi occhi strabuzzanti, circondati da sopracciglia fiammeggianti. Il personaggio mostra un serpente annodato intorno al collo, un terzo occhio sulla fronte ed è abbellito da una grande corona a cinque punte dal cui retro emergono i suoi capelli ispidi. Al centro del diadema si nota una piccola testa del bodhisattva trascendente Manjusri.

Nepal, 17th - 18th century . . Cm 26,50 x 37,00. Sculpture depicting the wrathful dharmapala Bhairava, here with big bulging eyes and flaming eyebrows. The figure has a snake coiled around the neck, a third eye on the forehead and is ornate with a big five pointed crown, from the back of which the bristly hair flow. At the center of the diadem is the small head of the transcendent bodhisattva Manjusri.
Size of the base on which the head rests: height 6 cm, width 22 cm.
