Arte Himalayana Thangka raffigurante la "Terra Pura" Padmasambhava Cino-Tibet, XVIII - XIX secolo. -. Cm 69,80 x 126,00. Grande pittura su tela raffigurante il maestro Padmasambhava (Guru Rimpoche, Swat, Pakistan VIII sec.) nel suo Paradiso o “Terra Pura”, Zangdok Palri (la montagna dal colore di rame). L’importante opera mostra un’intricata composizione al cui centro spicca una sontuosa pagoda su più livelli e parzialmente dipinta in oro, nel cui corpo principale é ospitato il maestro stesso vestito di abiti monacali rifiniti in filati preziosi. Porta il suo tipico copricapo, una Kapala nella mano sinistra adagiata in grembo, un vajra nella mano destra ed una bacchetta magica Kathvanga appoggiata alla spalla che lo identifica come detentore di poteri sovrannaturali. Intorno a sé mostra un'aureola dorata abbellita da peonie fiorite. L’edificio, poggiante su di una alberata montagna rossastra (a sua volta attorniata da acque fluttuanti), ospita un piccolo pantheon ai piedi del guru stesso, tra cui é possibile distinguere, Vajrapani, tre Lokapala (a guardia della base del palazzo) una delle sue mogli e una variante semi irata del maestro stesso, Dorje Drolo. In un patio rettangolare nei piani superiori, sono invece presenti i cinque Buddha trascendenti mentre all’apice, all’interno di una guglia é ritratto il Boddhisattva Avalokitesvara, a sua volta sormontato da una Stupa contenente Amithaba. Intorno alla pagoda si sviluppa il paradiso stesso con un gioco estremamente complesso di nuvole e personaggi fluttuanti tra questi si distingue all’apice di tutta la pittura il Buddha storico Sakyamuni. Poggiati su spumose nuvole sono inoltre rappresentati Vajra-Dharma, Rahu e Simhamukha. Nella porzione inferiore dell’opera si sviluppa inoltre un complesso paesaggio montuoso, ricco di alberi edifici e figure penitenti. Scritte di attivazione sul retro. Arte Himalayana A tahngka depicting the "Pure Land" of Padmasambhava Sino-Tibet, 18th - 19th century . . Cm 69,80 x 126,00. Large painting on canvas depicting the master Padmasambhava (Guru Rimpoche, Swat, Pakistan VIII century) in his Paradise or “Pure Land” Zangdok Palri (the copper colored mountain). This notable work shows an intricate composition, at the center of which is a rich multi-leveled pagoda, partly painted in gold, in the main part of which is the master himself, dressed in monk robes embellished by precious fabrics. He wears the characteristic hat, holds a Kapala in the left hand resting on his lap, a vajra in his right hand, and a magic Kathvanga wand rests on his shoulder identifying him as a wielder of supernatural powers. Around him is a golden halo enriched by blossoming peonies. The building, resting on a reddish wooded mountain (surrounded in turn by flowing water), hosts a small pantheon at the feet of the guru, among which are recognizable Vajrapani, three Lokapala (guarding the base of the palace), one of the wives and Dorje Drolo, a semi-wrathful manifestation of the master himself. In a rectangular patio on the upper floors are the five transcendent Buddhas, while at the top, inside a spire, is the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, in turn surmounted by a Stupa holding the Amithaba. Around the pagoda is the paradise itself, characterized by a complex scenery of clouds and floating characters. Among these is the Buddha Sakyamuni, at the top of the whole scene. On soft clouds are also pictured Vajra-Dharma, Rahu and Simhamukha. In the bottom half of the work is a complex mountainous landscape, rich in trees, buildings and penitent characters.
