Arte Cinese Ritratto di un mercante hong con indosso un cappello tipicamente mandarino Cina, inizio XIX secolo Olio su tela, attribuibile forse ad un seguace di Spolium o di Lam Qua . . Cm 46,00 x 60,80. Bel ritratto di un mercante in stile occidentale alla maniera di Lamqua, attivo nella provincia di Canton o di Spolium (Guan Zuolin), attivo a Guangzhou tra il 1785 ed il 1810, e famoso per i suoi ritratti di mercanti e capitani della marina nello stile occidentale invece della maniera cinese che prevede largo uso di inchiostro su seta. Per un esemplare comparativo si veda quello venduto sa Christie's New York nel gennaio del 2011 (sale 2404 lotto 151) e da Sotheby's New York il 23 gennaio 2010 (lotto 61). Tracce di scritta al retro della tela.

Beautiful portrait of a merchant, in western style, in the manner of Lamqua, active in the province of Canton, or Spolium (Guan Zuolin), active in Guangzhou between 1785 and 1810, and famous for his portraits of merchants and navy captains in a western style, rather than the classical Chinese one, characteristically making a large use of ink on silk.
