VERY RARE GIUNTINE EDITION, REPRINT OF THE 1580 EDITION, OF PAOLO DI CASTRO’S «COUNSELS», ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT COLLECTION OF LEGAL ADVICES OF THE MIDDLE AGES.
The binding is partly composed with a vellum from a Medieval manuscript written in a fine semigothic handwriting.
Paolo di Castro (1394-1441), jurist of the "school of commentators", scholar of Baldo degli Ubaldi, studied and taught at Avignon; then he was teacher of civil law at Florence, Siena, Bologna and Padova; he was also mayor at Viterbo. After Bartolo and Baldo, he was the most influent medieval lawyer of his time.
