Arte Himalayana Statua raffigurante Vajrasattva
Nepal, dinastia Malla, XVI secolo. -. Cm 11,00. Pregiata statua in lega a base di rame con ricca doratura nel tipico stile nepalese di epoca Malla raffigurante l'Adibuddha Vajrasattva (Rdo-rje-sems-pa in tibetano) seduto in posizione padmasana su base a doppio loto; stringe nelle mani i due attributi che lo contraddistinguono: nella destra un vajra e nella sinistra la campana ghanta.
La figura inoltre mostra piccoli alloggiamenti per pietre preziose, talune ancora in loco.
Arte Himalayana A statue depicting Vajrasattva. Nepal, Malla dynasty, 16th century. . Cm 11,00. This exquisite copper statue shows a lavish gilt in the typical Nepalese Malla style. It portrays the Adibuddha Vajrasattva (Rdo-rje-sems-pa in Tibetan) seated in padmasana position on a double lotus base. He holds his typical objects: a vajra in his right hand and the ghanta bell in his left hand. The statue shows little niches to hold jewels, some of which are still in place.
