Lotto 98 EGYPTIAN BLUE ENAMEL BREASTPLATE
New Kingdom, 19th dynasty, ca. 1321 - 1186 BC

On the main side are depicted the solar boat and two seated gods, Isis and her sister Nephtid. The two goddesses are in adoration before the god Khepri and witness his birth. In origin, inside the cavity, housed the beetle. On the opposite side, the representation of Anubis, Osiris and Horus, with their names in hieroglyphic. Among the funerary and magic protection productions, the pectoral plates are quite rare. Originally they were worn on the breastplate, at heart level. Their use is attested in the New Kingdom and their function is described in the XXVI Chapter of the Book of the Dead. Published: E. With tapered belly and pointed end. Lateral handles with duck heads, with horizontal shoulders, forming a right angle with the belly; short and slightly flared neck; flattened lip. Intact. Provenance: French private collection acquired at Galerie Art Olympia on 25 June 1985; ex collection of Revelli Countess. -

Lotto 105 COLLECTION OF THREE IMPORTANT EGYPTIAN FAIENCE AMULETS
From New Kingdom to Ptolemaic Period, 16th century BC - 1st century BC

An egyptian New-Kingdom blue faience glazed fragmentary amulet of Thot ibis, a Ptolemaic Shu god, and finally a seated Renenut with child: the snake-headed goddess is depicted seated on a throne breastfeeding his son the god Nepri (missing head). Behind, a back pillar with an inscription: ink ir s'a, ' -i n pr-f mn : « it's me who creates countryland, I'm useful when she also comes out". The iconography is referrable to the Isis lactans.
